Suzie Card-Maker
Welcome!
I LOVE to create greeting cards. This is a place
for me to share some of my favorite cards with family,
fellow card-makers,and friends.
Update: Since I began this card-making blog in 2009, we have moved to a warm, sunny place, retired, and gotten very busy. Even though my love of making cards has not lessened, my time "for" card-making has diminished. I had actually considered taking down my blog because of my lack of time to make and post cards. Instead I will try to post more regularly with a variety of things. Please bear with me while I attempt to expand my topics.

Sympathy Card Using Nestabilities
Finally, I tried my set of Nestabilities by Spellbinders yesterday! I don't even remember how long I have had the set. First I did a little research on how to use the Nestie dies with my Cuttlebug. Spellbinders had a good video to watch especially for the embossing. I also had to take the time to put all the directions into a WORD document, so I don't forget the two recipes for the "sandwiches". That is the technical term for the order in which you set things up to cut or emboss with the various cutting machines. :-)
I started out with white Bazzill for the cardstock base. I used a piece of SU! Close to Cocoa cardstock embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder for the next part. The Nesties were cut/embossed on SU! Bashful Blue and Whisper White cardstock. The butterfly and little flower stamps are part of SU! Flight of the Butterfly set. You are probably getting tired of seeing this set by now! (I chose only so many stamp sets/stamps to haul down here to Florida for the winter.) The sentiment is from SU! Three Little Words set, I believe. Using the embossing part of the Nesties was easier than I thought. I had purchased a package of rubber gaskets from Home Depot instead of the far more expensive rubber mats they recommend. The mats worked just fine. And, of course, I used Close to Cocoa and Bashful Blue ink. Thanks for looking!

Beautiful card, Suzie! It's always fun to see you have had some stamping time:) Aren't those Home Depot gaskets great? I think they emboss deeper, too:)
