Suzie Card-Maker

Welcome!

I LOVE to create greeting cards. This is a place
for me to share some of my favorite cards with family,
fellow card-makers,and friends.
Update: Since I began this card-making blog in 2009, we have moved to a warm, sunny place, retired, and gotten very busy. Even though my love of making cards has not lessened, my time "for" card-making has diminished. I had actually considered taking down my blog because of my lack of time to make and post cards. Instead I will try to post more regularly with a variety of things. Please bear with me while I attempt to expand my topics.

Happy Mother's Day

It seems to take me a long time to design a card. I am not sure why, but sometimes it drives me nuts! With Mother's Day coming soon, I decided to get to work on my mom's card. I wanted it to be pretty, but I also wanted to use some colors outside my comfort zone. The colors I chose are SU! Groovy Guava and River Rock. The butterfly is from the SU! Garden Whimsy set. Stamping the image two and cutting one of them out to mount on foam tape does so much for the dimension of the card. I couldn't resist adding all the pearls to the butterfly! The CB Dotted Swiss Embossing Folder was used on the Groovy Guava mat (I've loved dotted swiss since I was a little girl!) i used the Martha Stewart scallop border punch on it to coordinate with the scallop-punched circle where the butterfly rests.
